M.Sc. at Salford

Welcome to your secure future in Robotics and Embedded Systems. The one year Master of Science program in Robotics and Embedded Sciences by the University of Salford is a Post Graduate Degree program providing students with the best of both Indian as well as British education, learning for a period of 4 months in India and 8 Months in the UK.


The 20,000 student strong University of Salford has a state of the art campus located in a 60 acre park on the banks of the River Irwell in Salford, Greater Manchester.

The Main Campus


The main Peel Park campus is less than 1.5 miles from Manchester city centre. It is said to be possibly the first public park in the world. A former president of the Students' Union described Salford in 2007 as "a relaxed campus close to Manchester, but cheaper and greener."

There is a mainline railway station adjacent to the campus, Salford Crescent railway station and a number of high frequency bus services to Manchester, Salford and Bolton and Liverpool along the A6. There are a number of other university facilities located within a mile of the main campus. The Salford Museum and Art Gallery, said to be the first unconditionally free public library in England is also located on the Peel Park Campus.

As of 2012 the university ranks in the top ten for Town and Country Planning and Landscape, Building, and Middle Eastern and African Studies. The University is also a top university in the world based on employer-reviewed QS World University Rankings (out of approximately 17,000 institutions in the world) due to its traditional strengths in engineering, the arts, and established links with industry.

The list of notable alumni include Sir Ben Kingsly, B.N. Suresh and Duncan Steel. The University has the most friendly campus in the whole of the U.K. with a large Indian student population.

The course aims to create a skilled based education programme. This one year program is developed keeping in mind the industry requirements and is a balanced blend of theoretical knowledge transfer and experimental learning with four months of courses in Embedded Systems being deliveredin Mumbai at ThinkLABS and the remaining eight months at the University of Salford in the UK.

ELIGIBILITY

 

First Class in Graduation in BE/ BTech (All branches) with any of the following subjects:
Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Computer Science.

English Proficiency criteria (Any one of the below mentioned criteria)

 

  • ELTS 6.5
  • TOEFL (Internet based): 90 / 120
  • [Listening: 17/30, Reading: 18/30, Speaking: 20/30, Writing: 17/30]
  • XII English Score: 70%+
  • Aggregate of X, XI, XII for English Subject should be:
    • 70%+ (CBSE)
    • 65%+ (ISC)
    • 70%+ (West Bengal)
    • 70% (All other State Boards where English is stated medium)
  • Students from following Universities need not fulfill the English
